TMV-hiw-cutaway-valve

Safe storage and distribution of domestic hot water is imperative in any application. We provide a complete line of thermostatic mixing valves to ensure safe, tempered water is delivered from source to use.

The Benefits

  • Assures constant outlet water temperature even with variations in hot or cold water supply temperature.**
  • Allows the hot water cylinder to be operated at higher temperatures, extending the effective system flow rate and preventing the growth of Legionella.
  • Can provide for peak system demands with a smaller cylinder capacity.
  • Assures constant safe hot water temperature at the point of delivery to the fixture.

What You Need to Know

At the Fixture

Hot water cylinders are typically set to 60°C to prevent growth of harmful microbes. This temperature needs to be lowered at the tap for scald protection. New Zealand building code requires that the maximum hot water temperature at the tap shall be 45°C or less for childcare centres, schools, homes for the elderly and similar facilities, and 55°C for other buildings. To help you meet these requirements, we offer a line of tempering valves that are simple to install and maintain.

Supply Systems

Our valves can also be used in re-circulation systems that maintain domestic hot water mains at temperatures that prevent the growth of harmful microbes like legionella.

Periodic Inspection

Regular inspection is recommended to assure maximum valve life and a properly functioning system. Corrosive water conditions, unauthorized adjustments or repairs can be detected during inspection and service of the valve. The frequency of cleaning depends upon local water conditions.

** Please refer to specification for the selected model to determine the allowable inlet temperature range to maintain a desired outlet temperature.
